Best Tips to Build a Healthy Immune System
How to Build a Healthy Immune System
When thinking about building a healthy immune system, there are several key components that come to mind. These are my top tips although I don’t claim to be a doctor.
Tips for Building a Healthy Immune System:
1. Eat well
Studies say that 70% of your immune system is in your digestive tract. If we eat donuts and ice cream all day, chances are we will be sick more often. Eating well supports a healthy immune system. Therefore, good protein and lots of fruits and vegetables are a good thing to focus on.

Shop the outside edges of the grocery store aisle and avoid the inside aisles where all the processed food is. This will help you make good food choices.
2. Take good supplements
Although some argue that supplements are not necessary, I have to disagree. Our soil doesn’t contain the nutrients it once did. So it’s important to take supplements.
It is important to add basic supplements like vitamin C, good omega 3 oil, calcium/magnesium, and Zinc.
Here are some links to my favorite supplements:
- Vitamin C
- CM Super Calcium/Magnesium by 4Life
- Transfer Factors by 4Life – They’ve figured out (with a patent) how to transfer animal mama immunity to humans in this pill form. Pretty amazing stuff!
3. Don’t forget your oils!
Essential Oils – These are becoming more popular for good reason. People are seeing results and are helping their families live healthier.
Applying oils, putting them in a diffuser and taking oils in liquid or capsules are all great ways to build your family’s immune system.

4. Sleep! Get as much good sleep as possible
It’s tough when kids are little and they wake multiple times a night. But it’s important to take naps if this happens. When kids sleep through the night, make sure you get rest too.
If you’re staying up late to try to get work done, then there is a problem. Ask for help or hire help! Your sleep is so important.
If you want to get sleep but just can’t, then there are supplements that can help you with this too.
Or you can take 1 tablespoon of raw honey before you go to sleep to help you sleep better.
Our bodies heal and regenerate when we sleep. So don’t miss out on this important part of building your immune system.
5. Minimize Your Stress Level
Lowering stress can be difficult at times, but keeping stress as low as possible is vital to maintaining a healthy immune system. Stress can come from relationships, poor thought patterns, lack of sleep, financial problems, hormone levels being off, and more.
The first thing to do is to understand what is causing your stress. Take a piece of paper and write down your greatest stress right now!
Relationship Stress – If a relationship is causing most of your stress, please get help from a counselor, pastor or trusted friend. You will need someone to guide you into making good decisions about this relationship in the future.
This post on Bible Verses Couples Need to Master will help you know if your relationship is on the right track. These parenting verses from 12 Bible Verses Parents Need to Raise Amazing Children can help you know if you or your child’s attitude needs to change.
These recommendations do not replace good biblical counseling, but they can help give you something to focus on for the moment.
Poor Thought Patterns – Mental stress is often difficult to manage but it’s not impossible to overcome. Here again, seek good biblical counseling.
We have found that essential oils work really well for us when we deal with stress. We apply them and put them in our diffusers around the house. It’s amazing how quickly essential oils work for stress.
Exercise for Reducing Stress – Whether you enjoy exercising or not, studies have proven over and over again how beneficial exercise is for reducing stress.
You can exercise at home, outside or at a gym. Choose an exercise that you like to do. If you hate running, don’t pick running as the exercise you will focus on. There are so many videos and pieces of exercise equipment available now. Keep trying different options and choose one that works for you.
Some people like to exercise for long periods of time and others have very little time to exercise. There are many options for both types of people.
Do you enjoy leaving the house to exercise or do you prefer to stay home and do your own thing? Don’t get a gym membership if you hate leaving the house to exercise. In the same regard, don’t try to exercise at home if you know you will not be able to motivate yourself unless you are working out with others.
Doing healthy things week after week will build your family’s immune systems. There are no guarantees, but doing healthy things over a period of time will reap good benefits in the long run. Doing unhealthy things week after week will not reap these benefits.
Keep working at it, mama! Your intention and hard work will pay off in the end. Keep feeding your family good and healthy foods, give them good supplements, and diffuse, apply and ingest good quality essential oils.
