Favorite Oven Baked Fries Recipe
Here is one of our family’s favorite recipes. They tell me they taste better than any restaurant fries. If you have an old Veg-O-Matic or Salad Shooter, this recipe is much easier. You just cut the potatoes and throw them in a bag that has oil and spices in it. Then you lay them in a pan and bake them.
Oven Baked Fries
Scrub 6 potatoes and cut into strips using one of the tools mentioned above or with a knife and cutting board. The potatoes don’t have to be huge but they should be a good size – not too small.
In a zippered gallon bag combine:
1/4 c olive oil
2 T grated parmesan cheese
1 t salt
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t pepper
1/2 t paprika
Add potato strips to bag and seal. Shake bag around to coat the potatoes with the oil and spice mixture.
Spread potatoes on 2 cookie sheets in a single layer. Pampered Chef stones work well for this.
Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Be sure to flip the potatoes over once during baking time.
The longer you bake them, the crispier they will get. Make sure to loosen them from the bottom of the pan often if they look like they might stick.
These are great to serve with hamburgers of any kind (veggie, turkey, beef). They are also yummy with any type of chicken. I suppose if you were serving fish, these would go well with that too.
It seems like restaurants serve fries with just about everything, so these delicious fries would be a good complement to any type of meal that would be served in a restaurant.
Feel free to double the recipe for a large crowd although cutting the potatoes could be a challenge if you don’t have an appliance to cut them for you. Enjoy the recipe along with the satisfied looks on your family’s faces.
